    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Overview:</span><br></p>\n<p>The Dietitian coordinates and delivers comprehensive nutrition services to participants in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program at Neighborhood Health Association. This role is responsible for planning, developing, directing, and evaluating the nutrition services component of the WIC program to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines while meeting the individualized needs of program participants. The position provides certification, nutrition assessment, education, counseling, and follow-up services to promote optimal maternal and child health outcomes.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">WIC Certification, Recertification, and Follow-Up</span></li>\n<li>Obtain, assess, and document participant diet and health histories; review medical records as applicable.</li>\n<li>Determine and explain medical and nutritional risk; assign appropriate medical codes and priorities.</li>\n<li>Determine program eligibility, notify participants of certification outcomes, and obtain required signatures.</li>\n<li>Provide individualized nutrition counseling and referrals to internal and external services as needed.</li>\n<li>Prescribe and explain appropriate WIC food packages.</li>\n<li>Educate participants on program rights and responsibilities.</li>\n<li>Verify and determine income eligibility when required.</li>\n<li>Accurately record and maintain certification and participant data in compliance with program standards.</li>\n<li>Remove participants who no longer meet WIC eligibility requirements.</li>\n<li>Assess participant needs and assign individuals to appropriate nutrition education classes.</li>\n<li>Plan, develop, and teach group nutrition education classes.</li>\n<li>Prepare and maintain lesson plans tailored to participant needs and program requirements.</li>\n<li>Provide individualized counseling to high-risk participants, including high-risk obstetric patients.</li>\n<li>Select, prepare, and review nutrition education materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.</li>\n<li>Develop and submit the annual local nutrition education plan to the grantee agency.</li>\n<li>Provide initial, ongoing, and intervention-based nutrition counseling to high-risk populations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics</li>\n<li>Completion of a certified internship or AP4 through the American Academy of Dietetics, Registered Dietitian with the American Academy of Dietetics</li>\n<li>Licensed Dietitian with the State of Ohio Board of Dietetics</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently with a small team</li>\n<li>Ability to build a rapport with families</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are:</span></p>\n<p>Neighborhood Health Association (NHA) is Northwest Ohio’s largest community health center system.
