Description

Overview The Ludwig Princeton Branch at Princeton University seeks applicants for a Research Specialist position to join a laboratory focused on studying cancer immunology, and the effect of diet and obesity on cancer progression. The successful candidate will work with Professor Lydia Lynch and members of the lab to design and perform experiments with a particular focus on immunometabolic pathways in vitro and in vivo including analysis of mouse model of obesity and cancer. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension. Depending on the prior experience of the applicant, candidates at a variety of levels, based on the requirements below, will be considered. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience. The finalist will be required to pass a background check. Responsibilities Specific duties include but are not limited to laboratory rodent handling; molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, tissue culture and lab maintenance work. Working with other labs to aid use of metabolic cage collaborations is also a feature of this position. Qualifications Essential: -A strong background in science and a bachelor's degree is required. -Math and computer proficiency, along with meticulous record keeping is required. -Must be highly motivated, a team player, able to work independently, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred: -A background in molecular biology, immunology and/or cancer biology is highly desirable along with the ability to perform advanced mouse work. -Optimally, the candidate has demonstrated experience with molecular biology and laboratory rodent handling and tissue culture. -Computational biology experience is also highly desirable but not required.
