This high-technology plant will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology.&nbsp;</p><p>Ultium Cells&rsquo; partners include LG Energy Solution, Ltd.; the world&rsquo;s largest manufacturer of automotive battery cells, and General Motors; a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around.</p><p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p><p>As a continuous improvement engineer, the candidate will be responsible to bring a measurable improvement to multiple departmental benchmark targets, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). &nbsp;Candidate must be a self-motivated individual willing to take the initiative to continuously improve operations. &nbsp;He/she must possess the ability to deal with complex problems and be willing to work flexible hours/shift as projects require.</p><p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead continuous improvement projects to provide technical solutions to technical problems</li><li>Identify, scope, and justify automation and digital-enablement opportunities.</li><li>Lead structured problem solving (PDCA, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) to eliminate waste and drive root-cause resolution.</li><li>Maintain communication with partners outside of the work group including safety, quality, production, and maintenance</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution. &nbsp;Providing technical direction to and oversight of strategic suppliers</li><li>Maintain and meet project budgets/forecasts and drive cost reduction initiatives.</li><li>Develop CI roadmaps and tracking to ensure prioritization, benefit validation, and long-term sustainment</li><li>Ensure improvements are standardized, replicated across similar processes, and reflected in PFMEAs, control plans, and standardized work</li><li>Participate in incident investigations and corrective/preventive actions</li><li>Support KPI governance (SPQRCE metrics, OEE, scrap, downtime) and ensure accurate data visibility for decision-making</li><li>Drive 6S, visual controls, and workplace organization improvements</li><li>Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing engineering.</li></ul><p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering</li><li>Experience with processing equipment, throughput, and comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, enabling effective design and production.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, fostering operational efficiency and waste reduction.</li><li>A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.</li><li>Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time, with ability to meet project timelines&nbsp;</li><li>High level of analytical ability where problems are complex&nbsp;</li><li>Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required&nbsp;</li><li>Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project&nbsp;</li><li>Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions&nbsp;</li><li><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp;</span>Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC), enabling informed decision-making and process optimization.</li><li>Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings. &nbsp;Experience with reliability and maintainability of processing equipment, standalone availability, and throughput.</li><li>Battery manufacturing experience</li></ul><p><strong>Total Rewards Information:</strong></p><p>We offer market-competitive compensation including base pay and incentive compensation opportunities based on the achievement of Company goals. &nbsp;We offer employees paid time off to refresh and recharge.
