We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the team at our Revelstoke location, supporting and maintaining our equipment fleet for active projects throughout the region. Team & Culture As a certified Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic, you bring strong expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing heavy equipment. Your background includes working on construction and forestry machinery, along with managing parts inventory and using diagnostic software for brands such as Caterpillar, Hitachi, Volvo, and others. You work well independently while taking direction when required, and you lead by example in safety, communication, and work ethic. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of heavy equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions to minimize downtime. Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. Collaborate closely with operations and maintenance management to prioritize repairs and respond effectively to changing project demands. Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following company policies, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements at all times. Work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while remaining receptive to direction and feedback. Utilize diagnostic software and manufacturer resources to support repairs, with experience working on Caterpillar, Hitachi, Volvo, and similar equipment considered an asset. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work, from initial diagnosis through to final testing and documentation. Accurately complete service records, work orders, and parts documentation using computer systems and basic MS Office applications. Provide mentorship, guidance, and hands-on training to apprentices, fostering a positive and productive shop environment. Required Qualifications & Skills Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certification (or equivalent recognized trade certification). Minimum 5 years of experience working on heavy construction and/or forestry equipment in a shop or field environment. Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving abstract Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, engine, and powertrain systems. Physically fit and capable of performing the demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a shop environment. Comfortable using diagnostic software, service manuals, and computerized maintenance systems. Ability to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Available to work rotating day shifts, including weekends, in Revelstoke, with the flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required to meet operational needs. #indeedsj
