Description

Company Overview Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview We are seeking a proactive and experienced Production Control Supervisor to lead our Material Flow team in Marina. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory management, ensuring accurate and timely movement of materials and products across the organization. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines strategic planning with day-to-day operational involvement. The ideal candidate is process-oriented, technology-savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, implementing best practices, and continuously improving our materials flow and logistics operations. Working cross-functionally with departments such as production, engineering, and testing, you will directly support our mission to transform the future of transportation. Responsibilities Guide, train, and support team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous growth. Oversee the full lifecycle of materials, including receiving, shipping, and inventory control. Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen), optimizing workflows and eliminating inefficiencies. Partner with production, engineering, and testing teams to ensure material requirements are met efficiently. Ensure inventory integrity through regular cycle counts, physical audits, and system accuracy. Develop and maintain reports to track key performance metrics and operational trends. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment that supports efficient operations. Required Proven experience managing/developing teams in a manufacturing or logistics setting. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, or other process improvement methodologies. Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse best practices. Experience with ERP and MES systems for production and inventory control. Proficiency in computer-based data entry and inventory systems. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks as needed aided or unaided. 3–5 years of experience in shipping/receiving roles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
