Location : Chula Vista, CA We are seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer who will perform structural analysis in support of thermosets, thermoplastics, composites, metallic nacelles and aerostructure components using standard analysis methods and finite element approaches. You will conduct design trades and final product configuration definitions considering safety, strength, weight, cost & producibility for Commercial applications. You will also generate and present reports suitable for transmittal to an airworthiness authority, internal/external customers (such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Military). In addition, you will collaborate with both domestic and international engineering support teams on technical aspects of the stress analysis activities. Responsibilities • Responsible for performing structural analysis of aircraft components, assemblies, and systems while working as an integrated team for design studies. • Solve challenging structural analysis problems via research and coordination with subject matter experts/chief engineers • Structural analysis includes development of finite element models and loads, and performing static, fatigue and vibrations analysis • Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft structures by way of classical hand analysis and finite element methods. • Generate documentation to report analysis and test results to support airworthiness certification • Supports operation of equipment engineering systems by evaluating and interpreting needs and problems and develops effective approaches to resolving those issues. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR • Experience with structural analysis (classical hand analysis and finite element skills) • Structural load paths experience • NASTRAN or equivalent software’s highly desired. • FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software experience • Experience communicating and presenting technical information to senior level leadership Preferred Qualifications • Degrees preferred: Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Structural or similar • Experience with any aircraft or space vehicle structures • General knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements • Experience working with international teams • Background in composite material structure and design Salary • $105,000-140,000 per year • The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.
