Responsible for meeting attainment goals established for production continuity and balance. Partners with other departments to ensure support in attaining output productivity and quality. Schedules, trains, and motivates production labor force to ensure consistent attainment of production schedules at optimal productivity and cost levels. Continuous improvement mindset to recommend improvements in production flow or methods. Uses operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve quality.</p><p data-pasted=\"true\">Job Functions:</p><p>&bull; Supervise hourly production employees assigned to his/her shift.</p><p>&bull; Work in conjunction with Maintenance Supervisor and mechanics, Warehouse Manager, forklift drivers, Quality Assurance manager and QA technicians, purchasing, scheduling, R&amp;D, Sales, and Administration personnel.</p><p>&bull; Enforce all company safety rules. Properly train all production employees in safe operating procedures and work practices. Ensure all machinery is in safe working condition. Identify and report potential safety hazards.</p><p>&bull; In the event of an emergency responsible for safe evacuation of the production employees in the building.</p><p>&bull; Ensure production employees follow all operating procedures. Continuously monitor quality and take appropriate action to prevent out of spec products from being produced.</p><p>&bull; Investigate causes of any out of spec production.</p><p>&bull; Properly assigns production employees and determines proper utilization of machinery with the objective of completing the production schedule.</p><p>&bull; Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse departments on the availability flow of packaging and raw material requirements.</p><p>&bull; Monitors progress during shift and makes appropriate adjustments, communicates timely with upper management when schedule completion does not occur.</p><p>&bull; Maintain the production area in a neat and orderly condition. Assign housekeeping tasks to production employees and have the production area ready for plant inspections.</p><p>&bull; Instructs employees in efficient use of material, machinery, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. Identifies the developmental needs of employees and mentor their developmental skills and knowledge.</p><p>&bull; Relay information from senior management to work force. Present employee ideas and concerns to senior management. Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of operations.</p><p>&bull; Consults with senior management and HR to resolve employee problems or conflicts.</p><p data-pasted=\"true\">&bull; Interviews candidates pertaining to areas of responsibilities in production. Evaluates employees&rsquo; job performance.</p><p>&bull; Initiates progressive disciplinary steps when necessary.</p><p>&bull; Monitors and reports to senior management regarding employee morale. Recommends or implements ideas to motivate employees and improve production efficiency.</p><p>&bull; Monitors all line efficiency reports. Prepares work orders for both mechanical and safety issues.</p><p>&bull; Daily monitoring of meal breaks and lunch violations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Although some warehouse and production exposure will be expected.
