    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT scans by the application of ionizing radiation to produce quality images as required under a variety of conditions along with assisting physicians as required in the selection of practical applications and technical factors.</p><p><strong>Job Relationships</strong><br/>Reports to the Advanced Imaging Operations Manager</p><p><strong>Principal Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Produce quality CT scans and be able to anticipate when additional imaging would be beneficial.</li><li>Good knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.</li><li>Know the capabilities of the computer/scanner.</li><li>Able to identify pathology and provide radiologist with accurate measurements and density readings.</li><li>Operate dry laser printer.</li><li>Prepare CT films for radiologist to read.</li><li>Responsible for obtaining outside previous or comparison exams.</li><li>Familiar with pressure injector and doses.</li><li>Familiar with contrast material and possible reactions.</li><li>Obtain complete patient history.</li><li>Keep log of all patients.</li><li>Inform all technologists working in CT of all protocols and any changes proposed by the radiologists.</li><li>Stay current on CT procedures to provide quality service.</li><li>Must be able to adapt to flexible working hours.</li><li>Maintain contrast reaction boxes throughout the Radiology department.</li><li>Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.</li><li>Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training &amp; accomplishments as required per policy.</li><li>Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.</li><li>Perform other job duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Education/Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Must be a graduate of an approved ACR School.</li><li>Must have five years of experience in CT.</li></ul><p><strong>Licenses/Certificates</strong></p><ul><li>CPR per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.</li><li>Must maintain current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiography and CT.</li><li>Must maintain active accreditation in Radiography with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Must maintain professional behavior.</li><li>Must be able to adjust to various personalities and situations.</li><li>Must have the ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress, using tact and good judgment.</li><li>Must be proficient in venipuncture.</li><li>Must possess manual dexterity to use keyboard and handle equipment and appliances.</li><li>Must be capable of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, lifting, and twisting.</li><li>Must be able to work with arms above head.</li><li>Must be able to wear lead apron for long periods of time.</li><li>Must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.</li><li>Must be able to assist patient to and from CT unit.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Environment</strong></p><ul><li>Will be exposed to fumes from cleaning agents or x-ray film processor chemicals, in limited areas.</li><li>Will be exposed to conditions including exposure to blood and body fluids, tissue, contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials.</li><li>Occasional heavy lifting required.</li></ul><p><strong>PHI/Privacy Level</strong><br/>HIPAA2</p>",
