This role is a technical leadership position responsible for guiding and contributing to the work of our database administrators and data engineers while ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of Atlas’s data platforms.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a player-coach, you’ll balance direct technical contributions with team leadership—partnering closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to ensure our data environment supports reporting, analytics, and operational needs. You’ll take a proactive approach to data management while also responding effectively to immediate operational challenges.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Act as a player-coach by contributing directly to technical work while leading and mentoring the data team.</li>\n <li>Provide technical leadership for database administration, data engineering, and data platform operations.</li>\n <li>Direct the administration and maintenance of databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, security, and reliability.</li>\n <li>Partner with the DBA team to implement industry best practices and ensure adherence to established standards.</li>\n <li>Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines, data models, and integrations to support efficient data movement across systems.</li>\n <li>Manage and optimize data warehouse operations to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data for reporting and analytics.</li>\n <li>Oversee data lake operations, ensuring compliance with data governance, security, and accessibility standards.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand data needs and align data solutions to organizational goals.</li>\n <li>Assess data integrity, high availability, security, and privacy to ensure strong data management practices.</li>\n <li>Review database designs, structures, and implementation plans, and support enhancements to active applications, scripts, and procedures.</li>\n <li>Oversee project communication, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Your Wellness Is Our Focus</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Programs with a strong focus on mental health</li>\n <li>24/7 access to a licensed therapist</li>\n <li>Wellness programs with employee perks</li>\n <li>Onsite Fitness Center and Medical Clinic</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Financial Wellbeing</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Generous 401(k) matching retirement plan</li>\n <li>Pre-tax savings options including HSA and FSA</li>\n <li>Tuition assistance</li>\n <li>Financial wellness resources through our Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Earning potential up to $115,000</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Flexibility & Time Off</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, parental leave, holidays, and disability leave</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Need</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.</li>\n <li>3+ years of experience in database administration, data engineering, or related roles, including hands-on experience with data pipelines, data warehouses, and database platforms, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical initiatives and manage cross-functional work.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective data solutions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Technical Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Data Factory.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of database backup and recovery, security and encryption, data archival, and data masking techniques.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with data warehouse architecture, design principles, and data modeling.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead by example through direct technical contribution.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Our Promise to You</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Atlas, we want you to grow your career - not just fill a role.
