Position overview
The Inspection & Packaging Technician I will train and work in every aspect of the Finish Operations Area including: inspection, labeling and packaging of pharmaceutical products with a moderate degree of supervision. This role will perform 100% visual inspection of products where attention to detail and the ability to accurately identify defects are critical. The Inspection and Packaging Technician must have the ability to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Master Batch Records and adheres consistently to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential job duties
Complete logs and paperwork prior to bringing product on line ensuring all has been reconciled to packaging batch records
Perform labeling and cartoning processes ensuring proper labeling and placement of product in cartons with inserts, etc.
Reconcile and verify labels
Assist with daily cleaning of department
Enter metric data into computer as needed to track process
Assist as part of spill team upon completion of specialized training and certification
Understand and implement safety procedures and cGMPs
Obtain line clearance from quality assurance and bring product on line
Clean and inspect vials for glass defects, particulates, dirty vials, product on stoppers, seals, etc.
Perform audit of vials that have been inspected to ensure process has been performed properly
Sort rejects during inspection process and categorize, verify and complete appropriate paperwork
Perform media inspections checking for turbid vials
Support manufacturing activities in relation to pre/post fill operations such as sanitizing and providing trays as required
Pull samples of rejects and assist in sending to appropriate lab for testing
Label Chemicals/Reagents
Stay current with all applicable job-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Receive incoming materials (including GMP, engineering and non-inventory goods), products or supplies in accordance to procedure
Assist with incoming/ outgoing shipments of Drug Substance/ Drug Products and samples as expected per procedures.
Supporting shipping validation protocols
Organize and maintain inventory storage for maximum efficiency and compliance with cGMP requirements
Maintain excellent documentation skills, safety practices and thorough knowledge of GMP and non-GMP polices
High school education or equivalent
Minimum 0-1 years’ related experience and/or training
Must be able to pass visual inspection test/annual eye exam as a condition of employment
Education, experience, certification and licensures Knowledge, skills and abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to apply basic math concepts
Knowledge of Internet and manufacturing software
Annual qualification for 100% manual inspection
Must pass annual eye exam
