Description

Description Microbiology Group position includes training for specific skills and growth opportunities. Looking for flexibility to work Tuesday-Saturday day shift 7:00am-3:30pm. Responsibilities Principal Accountabilities include, but are not limited to: With minimal direction, perform required laboratory tasks by strictly following established protocols and procedures. Perform all applicable corporate and laboratory quality control procedures and policies. Perform assigned methods for varied product types. Prepare all records (electronic data, folders and forms) in a timely, thorough and neat manner. Use the laboratory information systems and sample tracking procedures, as applicable. Using MSDS’s work with various microorganisms, chemicals, solvents, acids, and bases. Provide input to SOP's for work area. Cross-train as appropriate in order to alleviate the workload when high sample volumes are experienced. Maintain a clean work area. Suggest, test, document, and help implement process improvements. Follow all safety and ethics requirements. Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications High school diploma/GED plus experience or demonstrated knowledge of work area required. Good written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to organize work and maintain workflow with minimal direction. Ability to use light and fluorescent microscopes on a regular basis. Ability to work with food and dietary supplement samples containing allergens, including but not limited to whey, soy, nuts, gluten, etc. Knowledge of aseptic and bacterial plating techniques and handling microorganisms safely. Ability to work on a rotation schedule. Experience with common laboratory tools (balances, pipettors, autoclaves, biosafety cabinets, etc).
