As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><u>Position Summary:&nbsp;</u></p><ul><li>Design and develop prototype medical textile based structures and processes to demonstrate feasibility for meeting customer needs. &nbsp;</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Develops products based on customer needs and specifications.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Researches and implements new technologies/capabilities required to meet customer&rsquo;s needs</li></ul><p><u>Duties and Responsibilities:</u></p><ul><li>Works independently under the direction of the Sr. R&amp;D manager.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Interact with customers, medical device engineers and sales team to understand the unmet needs and offer solutions.</li></ul><ul><li>Selects preliminary materials, manufacturing techniques in developing textile components and related value added processes.&nbsp;</li><li>Develops costing for processes.&nbsp;</li><li>Leads the selection and development of new technologies, equipment, capabilities and processes.</li><li>Interacts with outside vendors, suppliers, and consultants.&nbsp;</li><li>Provides technical support to sales, customers and operations.&nbsp;</li><li>Develops and executes design and process investigation and optimization activities, testing and produces corresponding reports.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Supports the creation of risk management and design control documents &ndash; per ISO 13485 including process flow charts, PFMEA, and control plans.</li></ul><p><u>&nbsp;</u></p><p><u>Education and /or Experience</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>MS in Biomedical Engineering, Textile Engineering or Materials Engineering.</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum of 5 years as R&amp;D Engineer + MS (also, Protoype Engineer, Product Development Engineer). During which R&amp;D Engineer is expected to develop textile-based solutions covering braiding, knitting, weaving, and non-woven. Minimum to have a strong background in knitting and weaving. &nbsp;</li><li>Min 3 years of experience designing manufacturing process with quality considerations.</li><li>Six Sigma Black Belt certified.</li><li>Min 1 year of experience of utilizing Design/Process Excellence tools (Lean Six Sigma tools, DOE, etc.).</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>C</strong><strong>onfluent Medical Technologies</strong> is dedicated to working collaboratively with our customers, taking their projects from rapid prototype into high volume production.
