Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION We are currently seeking a full-time Structural/Civil to sit in our West Des Moines, IA office. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of bridge projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training who would work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs and office staff in various capacities. V&K BENEFITS Benefits available 30 days following date of employment, includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short and Long Term Disability, plus additional supplemental insurances Clothing allowance 401k with company match Paid Time Off and 9 paid holidays Paid training and development on and off-site RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare detailed technical engineering reports. Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects. Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction. Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule. Perform structural design calculations. Use Bentley Microstation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD to aid with design and plan preparation. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required 1-5 years of civil/structural engineering design experience preferred/desired Iowa PE license or EIT certification or ability to obtain either within 6 months preferred Previous bridge design experience desired Strong written and verbal communication skills required Bridge inspection certification desired Master’s degree in Structural Engineering optional Proficiency with Bentley Microstation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD desired
