    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Metallurgy Technician supports metallurgical testing, analysis, and quality control processes to ensure materials meet required specifications and standards. This role involves preparing, testing, and analyzing metallic and non-metallic samples using laboratory equipment and established procedures.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred Hours: 7:30-4pm Monday - Friday</p>\n<p>Compensation: $20-25/hour depending on experience </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare metallurgical samples (cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching) for microscopic and mechanical evaluation.</li>\n <li>Conduct routine hardness tests, tensile tests, and other mechanical property evaluations under supervision.</li>\n <li>Operate basic laboratory equipment (optical microscopes, hardness testers, grinders, polishing machines).</li>\n <li>Record and organize test results accurately for review..</li>\n <li>Assist in quality control testing of incoming materials and finished products.</li>\n <li>Follow established ASTM/ISO/ASME procedures and company standards for testing.</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory workspace, including basic equipment maintenance.</li>\n <li>Support continuous improvement efforts and learn new testing techniques as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills / Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>HS Diploma or GED required, some college preferred</li>\n <li>Relevant internships, co-op experience, or vocational training in a laboratory setting is a plus.</li>\n <li>1+ years of experience in a metallurgical, materials testing, or manufacturing lab environment is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills & Competencies</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong interest in metallurgy, materials testing, or manufacturing.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of metals, heat treatment, or material properties (preferred but not required).</li>\n <li>Hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort working with lab tools/equipment.</li>\n <li>Detail-oriented with good recordkeeping and organizational skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols.</li>\n <li>Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced responsibilities.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Company Overview</h2>\n<p>Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
