Description Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking applicants for an adjunct faculty teaching classes related to semiconductor manufacturing within the MEMS associates degree. The adjunct faculty will be responsible for, but not limited to: Delivering on-campus lecture and hands-on laboratories related to semiconductor manufacturing: Gowning up and working in a class 10,000 cleanroom and class 100 cleanroom including the use of hand tools, computers with Windows software, vacuum pump operation & maintenance, packing including die attach and wire bonding, and silicon wafer processing such as chemical cleaning, thin film deposition, photolithography, and diffusion. Working with coordinator to optimize delivery of lab and lecture content. Performing setup, operation, teardown, shutdown, and cleanup of all equipment, materials, and tooling used in MEMS associates semiconductor labs. Grading quizzes, homework, and exams using Canvas. Working with LCCC administration and staff for extracurricular events such as tours or live demonstrations. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Attained or in pursuit of an Associates of Engineering or Applied Science in an appropriate field related to semiconductors (ie. Electrical, Mechanical, Technology, Industrial, etc..) in addition to at least 3 years of work experience in a field related to microelectronic manufacturing. If a candidate is in pursuit of an associates degree then they must be actively taking a minimum of six credit hours per semester at the associates level. Hands-on experience in semiconductor equipment operation, processing, and/or maintenance and working in a cleanroom environment. Able to work in flexible schedule from 9 AM – 9 PM on campus. Able to use a computer with Microsoft Windows, Office, and Teams. Able to be trained on and use semiconductor equipment on-campus in a class 100 and class 10,000 cleanroom environment. Excellent communication and organization skills with the ability to learn quickly. Comfortable and nimble at multitasking in a dynamic educational environment. Preferred Qualifications : Attained bachelor’s degree or beyond in related field – Engineering, technology, industrial, etc. 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment, ESD preventative, and/or class 10,000 cleanroom environment. Attained their IPC J-STD-001 solder certificate and IPC A-610 certificate. Experience with PCB design software such as Altium. The complete application file should include: a cover letter detailing area(s) of expertise, an updated curriculum vitae (CV), unofficial college transcripts (undergraduate and graduate), and the contact information of three professional references. Incomplete files will not be considered. Official transcripts will be required upon employment. Candidate selected will be required to complete a background check prior to being hired.
