The ID&C Engineer will work as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining the United States Air Force Test Operations efforts at AEDC.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position requires occasional scheduled extended hours and/or weekend work to meet critical contractual requirements and occasional unscheduled night or weekend support in emergency situations.            </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<p>The individual hired for this position will function as an ID&C Engineer supporting test operations, system/maintenance engineering, and/or design engineering for systems used in one or more of the various test facilities in the AEDC complex. Core responsibilities of this role include providing engineering support for any combination of the listed types of systems:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Instrumentation and data acquisition systems used to make complex and highly accurate physical measurements of parameters associated with the article under test and/or the test facility</li>\n <li>Motion control systems for precision positioning of the test article in the test environment</li>\n <li>Facility and process control systems to control the test article and supplementary systems</li>\n <li>Plant process control systems to measure and ensure delivery of specified test conditions by implementing closed loop control of complex systems of motors, valves, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Mid-career ID&C Engineers will apply theoretical concepts and equations of electronics, signal processing, motion, control theory, and various software and computer skills to independently develop solutions to complex engineering problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This ID&C Engineering position will be deployed to the Space & Missiles and/or Hypersonics Test Facilities; however, ID&C Engineers may be reassigned to other areas based on workload demands and mission needs. ID&C Engineers may also support multiple test areas/facilities as required. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Duties:</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>ID&C Engineers at AEDC are critical to the execution of the test mission.  Specifically, duties for this mid-career position include:</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Independently perform work, generally within Instrumentation, Data Acquisition, and/or Control System Engineering, which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment of a complex technical nature.</li>\n <li>Participate in one or more of the following:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Application and support of ID&C systems in preparation for and during active ground test operations.</li>\n   <li>System troubleshooting and return-to-service</li>\n   <li>Development of system requirements</li>\n   <li>Preparation of specifications and design calculations</li>\n   <li>ID&C System design, development, lifecycle system engineering and/or system application and maintenance.</li>\n   <li>System design, including concept sketches and layouts</li>\n   <li>Automated Control and Human Machine Interface (HMI) Software Development</li>\n   <li>Preparing designs, drawings and data under supervision of more experienced engineering staff</li>\n   <li>Preparation of engineering studies and reports</li>\n   <li>Preparation of material quantity estimates</li>\n   <li>Uses computer aided design/computer aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools</li>\n   <li>System Verification and Validation Test Development/Execution</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Evaluate, select, and apply complex engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, with limited guidance for subject matter experts and management. </li>\n <li>Perform highly complex technical assignments, which require the application and/or investigation of multiple and complex variables; develop and refine complex work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract.</li>\n <li>Corresponds with vendor personnel to develop engineering solutions to complex technical challenges. </li>\n <li>Monitor and meet applicable work schedules.</li>\n <li>Review design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors with a high degree of complexity and prepare comments and recommendations.</li>\n <li>It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. </li>\n <li>Perform other related duties as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree focusing on Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or other related engineering or scientific field and five (5) to four (10) years of relevant experience. </li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and access to DoD network and computer systems</li>\n <li>Current U. S.
