This position requires providing service to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS<br>Education:<br>High School Diploma or GED Required.</p><p>Experience:<br>Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic setting preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.</p><p>Licensure:<br>Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) credentials or completion of an approved medical assistant program required. Must obtain certification within 6 months of date of hire through a recognized national professional association such as: AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) AMT (American Medical Technologists) ARMA (American Registry of Medical Assistants) NAHP (The National Association of Healthcare Professions) NHA (National Healthcare Association)</p><p>Additional Skills/Requirements Required:<br>AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required. Ability to successfully complete general and department role based specific skills validation and competency testing.</p><p>Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:<br>N/A</p><p>Competencies:<br>Patient Care: Responsible for practicing safely within the defined standards of practice.<br>Records and relays patient information, symptoms, and concerns to the patient’s medical provider or registered nurse for further triage assessment and to determine a plan of care<br>Completes standardized rooming and performs clinical intake, health data collection, and documentation.<br>Performs tasks according to scope of practice, documented competencies, and as directed by a licensed practitioner or nurse.Implements age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs as directed by the patient’s medical provider.<br>Reinforces patient/family teaching plan based on identified health education needs and the condition and age of the patient through approved educational materials or written instructions<br>Teamwork: Willing to share responsibilities, support their teammates, and work together to achieve common goals.<br>Organizes and prioritizes daily work assignments to support patient needs, the interdisciplinary team, and operational efficiency.<br>Demonstrates teamwork in the delivery of patient care.<br>Recognizes the importance of time sensitive issues.<br>Technical Competence: Uses knowledge and skills acquired through training and validation through competency testing<br>.Provides clinical support under the supervision of a licensed practitioner.<br>Documents and capture charges for clinical support services rendered within the patient visit.<br>Performs administrative support responsibilities as directed by a Clinic Leader.<br>The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.</p><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS<br>Physical Demand Code:<br>Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
