Apply now and be a part of something extraordinary at Johns Hopkins Intrastaff!</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare patients and operatory for dental procedures. \n  <ul>\n   <li>Expanded Function Duties:\n    <ul>\n     <li>Take vital signs (blood pressure /pulse readings – take and record)</li>\n     <li>Placing or removing retraction cord</li>\n     <li>Removing sutures</li>\n     <li>Drying a root canal</li>\n     <li>Applying topical fluoride; applying fluoride varnish</li>\n     <li>Placing or removing a rubber dam</li>\n     <li>Removing or placing a periodontal dressing</li>\n     <li>Preparing and fitting stainless steel crowns</li>\n     <li>Taking alginate impressions for intraoral appliances</li>\n     <li>Placing or removing a matrix band</li>\n     <li>Preparing temporary crowns</li>\n     <li>Cementing temporary crowns or restorations</li>\n     <li>Performing vitality tests</li>\n     <li>Placement of temporary restorations</li>\n     <li>Removing temporary crowns</li>\n     <li>Removing excess cement</li>\n     <li>Fabricating athletic mouth-guards, bleaching trays, fluoride trays, impressions trays, night-guards on models</li>\n     <li>Delivery of restorative material with dentist at chairside</li>\n     <li>Applying desensitizing agents</li>\n     <li>Fabricate indirect restorations in a lab</li>\n     <li>Digital impressions</li>\n     <li>Performing bite registration</li>\n     <li>Bleaching (using bleaching trays)</li>\n     <li>Applying bonding agents</li>\n     <li>Applying topical anesthesia</li>\n     <li>Etching teeth</li>\n     <li>Fabricating indirect restorations in a dental office</li>\n     <li>Apply desensitizing agents</li>\n     <li>Placing and removing wedges</li>\n     <li>Oral Hygiene instructions</li>\n     <li>All duties designated to Dental Assistants, under the same level of required supervision</li>\n     <li>Any other duty approved by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.</li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p>Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays). </p></li>\n <li><p>Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental treatment procedures. </p></li>\n <li><p> Clean and maintain each operatory and lab area following all HEIC and OSHA guidelines to ensure compliance. </p></li>\n <li><p>Provide excellent customer service. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Must be a great communicator, able to multitask with the ability to anticipate the provider’s needs, while listening to the patient.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED. A minimum of 3 years of prior experience as an EFDA.</li>\n <li>Must be registered by the State of Maryland as a Dental Assistant Qualified in General Duties. </li>\n <li>Must be a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) through the Dental Assisting National Board</li>\n <li>Requires current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners in Dental Radiation Technology.  </li>\n <li>Requires CPR Certification </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Johns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
