Description
Practice
Since our opening in 1953, our hospital's success has always been driven by our veterinarians who have your pet's health and wellness at the forefront.
Erie Animal Hospital doctors and staff have served all of the community's pet care needs for over 70 years. We offer expert veterinary services to the Erie area, as well as other nearby cities.
Position Purpose
Join a compassionate, close-knit team that’s been serving the Erie community for over 70 years!
At Erie Animal Hospital , we’re proud to be a trusted name in companion animal care since the 1950s. Our recently renovated hospital offers a welcoming, modern environment with six spacious exam rooms — including a cat-only room and separate feline lobby — ensuring comfort for both pets and their people.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Collaborative, Experienced Team: Work alongside 3 dedicated DVMs — Dr. Diane Ventrello, Dr. Brian Ulrich, and Dr. Raylene Hinley-Schroeck — supported by a tenured group of licensed technicians, assistants, and front-desk staff. Most team members have been with us for 5+ years, creating a drama-free, family-like culture.
Supportive Environment: We value communication and growth through biweekly team meetings and lunch-and-learns. You’ll have access to structured mentorship, making this a new grad–friendly hospital where your career can truly flourish.
Comprehensive Medicine: We provide high-quality small animal medicine and surgery, including daily dentals and soft-tissue procedures. Dr. Ulrich and Dr. Hinley both perform abdominal ultrasounds, with Dr. Hinley offering cardiology scans as well.
Modern Equipment: Digital full-body and dental radiography, IDEXX in-house and reference labs, digital ultrasound, Cornerstone practice management software, and full anesthesia monitoring systems.
Flexible Scheduling: Enjoy a four-day work week with only every third Saturday rotation. Our doctors support each other with flexibility and autonomy in scheduling.
Structured Mentorship for New Graduates
Our structured mentorship program ensures new graduates receive hands-on support from experienced veterinarians in medicine, surgery, and client communication. You’ll have guided training, regular check-ins, and a gradual transition to independence — all within a supportive and encouraging environment designed to help you thrive.
What Sets Us Apart
Erie Animal Hospital isn’t just a workplace—it’s a team that truly cares. We believe in balancing excellent medical care with a people-first culture where your well-being and professional satisfaction come first. You’ll have the clientele base to stay busy (enough for five DVMs!) while maintaining strong compliance and client relationships.
We foster an atmosphere of respect, collaboration, and humor — where your voice matters, your skills are appreciated, and your growth is supported.
