feeling and visually examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession; exposing and developing radiographic studies. &nbsp;</li><li>Prevent dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity preventing agents. &nbsp;</li><li>Maintain patient appearance and ability to chew by fabricating temporary restorations, cleaning and polishing removable appliances, placing, carving, and finishing amalgam restorations, removing cement from crowns and bridges. &nbsp;</li><li>Assist dentist with dental and medical emergencies.</li><li>Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions, providing reminders of time of next dental hygiene visit.</li><li>Initiate oral hygiene instruction with all patients during course of treatment. &nbsp;</li><li>Properly refer abnormal findings to appropriate provider. &nbsp;(i.e., undiagnosed hypertension to MD, leukoplakic oral lesion to DDS).</li><li>Notify DDS of patients who fail to respond to initial therapy appropriately and thereby may need chemotherapeutic or surgical intervention. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical and dental histories, charting in patient records. &nbsp;</li><li>Follow clinic protocol with reviewing patient&rsquo;s medical history at every appointment and records changes. &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies. &nbsp;</li><li>Follow clinic radiographic protocol and produces diagnostic radiographs.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Associates (A.A) Degree from a Community College or Technical school in dental hygiene</li><li>License to practice oral hygiene in the state of Colorado.</li><li>1-2 years related experience and/or training;
