We even offer pet insurance for your four-legged family members.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Early access to earned wages with Daily Pay, tuition reimbursement to help further your career and adoption assistance to help you grow your family.   </li>\n</ul>\n<p>With a collective goal to champion a culture of belonging where everyone feels valued and respected, we honor the ways people are unique and embrace what brings us together.   </p>\n<p>And, we believe equipping you with support and development opportunities is a vital part of delivering an exceptional employment experience. </p>\n<p>Find a fulfilling career and make a difference with UnityPoint Health.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Clinical Excellence//Departmental Support</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participates in team effort to accomplish efficient room turnover per AORN guidelines and Infection Control Policy which includes but is not limited to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Sweeping/mopping floors</li>\n   <li>Placing equipment in an orderly fashion</li>\n   <li>Collecting/distributing clean/soiled linen</li>\n   <li>Collecting and transporting hazardous waste</li>\n   <li>Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed</li>\n   <li>Changing bed linens</li>\n   <li>Obtaining supplies</li>\n   <li>Transporting specimens</li>\n   <li>Opening sterile supplies</li>\n   <li>Transporting instruments and case carts to/from Sterile Processing</li>\n   <li>Sterilizing instruments</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Cleans assigned areas in the surgical department by washing furniture, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions</li>\n <li>Maintains janitor closet, cleans carts and equipment, and ensures all items are replaced in an orderly manner</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable in functions of Central Sterile Processing related to cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, wrapping and storage of instrumentation following appropriate “Instructions for Use,” (IFU’s) of instrumentation and assists as needed</li>\n <li>Understands usage of standard precautions, personal protective equipment, and isolation precautions.</li>\n <li>Prepares all necessary equipment, supplies and positioning aids based on preference card</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Patient Care</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs assigned patient care duties as needed and/or delegated to, which may include:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Monitoring surgical schedule to ensure that the patient arrives on the unit in a timely manner</li>\n   <li>Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed</li>\n   <li>Performs linen changes on stretchers and beds</li>\n   <li>Transfer patient from stretcher or bed to OR bed</li>\n   <li>Responds to patient needs promptly</li>\n   <li>Aids other team members as required</li>\n   <li>Positioning and prepping patients according to AORN guidelines</li>\n   <li>Applying monitors to the patient</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Must possess current basic life support (BLS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire</li>\n <li>Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English</li>\n <li>Basic computer knowledge using Microsoft Office, web browser, and email</li>\n <li>Demonstrates competency in aseptic technique upon completion of orientation</li>\n <li>Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. </li>\n <li>Call responsibilities may be associated with this position. Operating Room Assistant must remain substance free and within 30 minutes of the facility when fulfilling call obligations</li>\n</ul>",
