Description

Description Under minimal supervision, responsible for providing clinical office support to ensure patient satisfaction. Works closely with and mentors clinical staff and provider staff through the focus on front desk processes for two or more clinics, functioning as a lead for all front desk activities. Responsibilities Organizes and coordinates the clerical work of the unit to ensure proper work flow. Performs all front office duties, checking in patients, ensuring completion of all necessary forms for registration, collecting co-pays, assisting patients when needed, and answering phones. Schedules patient appointments and follows up on missed appointments by telephone or mail. Obtains medical records or retrieves records through the use of a computer for accuracy. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Demonstrates the ability to support the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions, The UT Health Way. Demonstrates analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner. Demonstrates creativity and alternative thinking; able to develop new ideas supportive of The UT Health Way. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and database programs. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of related experience is required. Experience with medical terminology is preferred. This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
