Loads and unloads heavy equipment and machinery while ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Knowledge and Skill Requirements:</strong><br>• Ability to drive a standard transmission vehicle<br>• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe hauling practices<br>• Ability to secure loads with chains and binders and perform periodic checks<br>• Sound judgment for safe driving in adverse weather and challenging conditions<br>• Basic mechanical skills for emergency repairs (e.g., tire changes, installing chains)<br>• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualification(s):</strong><br>• Experience instructing customers on equipment usage and maintenance<br>• Familiarity with heavy equipment types and handling procedures</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Education Requirements:</strong><br>• High school diploma or GED required</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong><br>• Drive tractor-trailer to deliver and pick up machines at customer job sites and Stowers locations<br>• Load and unload heavy equipment and machinery<br>• Maintain current licenses and health card necessary to legally transport equipment<br>• Inspect tractor-trailer and related equipment for operational safety and reliability<br>• Complete shipping and receiving documents for Stowers and customer records<br>• Secure all loads with chains and binders; check periodically during transport<br>• Perform emergency repairs as needed<br>• Instruct customers on proper usage and maintenance of delivered equipment<br>• Follow all Company and customer safety rules and maintain a clean, orderly work area<br>• Respond to customer requests professionally and promptly<br>• Attend meetings, training, and activities as required<br>• Perform other duties as assigned</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Leadership Responsibilities:</strong><br>• None; individual contributor role</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Experience and Skills:</strong><br>• Three years of driving experience hauling heavy equipment<br>• Valid CDL driver’s license (or ability to obtain one)<br>• Dependability and punctuality<br>• Ability to work independently and as part of a team<br>• Positive attitude and strong integrity</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical and Mental Requirements:</strong><br>• Pass pre-employment background check, physical exam, and drug screen<br>• Ability to lift 20–75 pounds occasionally<br>• Ability to wear required PPE (glasses, gloves, protective clothing, footwear)<br>• Ability to work under occasional pressure and meet deadlines<br>• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong><br>• Standard five-day schedule with daily overtime and occasional weekends<br>• Exposure to outdoor conditions, including adverse weather<br>• Maintain a clean, safe working environment<br>• Frequent travel to customer job sites and Stowers locations</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Why Stowers Machinery?</strong> &nbsp;At Stowers Machinery, you’re not just taking a job—you’re joining a team that powers progress across East Tennessee as a trusted Caterpillar dealer.
