Description

JOB TITLE: IND Pasting Operator DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The IND Pasting Operator is responsible for equipment set-up and changeovers. This position ensures operations and troubleshooting on pasting equipment to produce pasted plates for different battery types. The IND Pasting Operator must ensure products produced meet all specifications and quality characteristics while machines are running within the set parameters. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES: Is responsible for: Understanding and following policies, procedures, and instructions. Identifying and reporting product, process, and quality system non-conformities to Supervisors. Assisting in the control of nonconforming products. Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions. Lead by example. Keeps supervisor informed of the status in safety, quality, and productivity of assigned areas. Collaborates with Supervisor regarding team member assignments. Performs break reliefs when and where assigned by supervisor. Oversees and can perform all job functions in area of responsibility. Performs and assists with preventative maintenance and other light to moderate maintenance tasks. Performs and assists with troubleshooting of machines or lines. Plans, directs, and assists with changeovers and setups. Plans, directs, and assists with keeping machinery, lines, and area in good housekeeping standards. Ensures equipment is operating correctly and within specifications. Trains and/or assists in all training of new team members. Evaluates and reports any potential safety concerns or issues. Identifies potential non-conforming products and assists in proper disposition. Is familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives. ACCOUNTABILITY: This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor. DESIRABLE TRAITS: Ability to work efficiently and in a fast-paced environment; self-motivation to effectively troubleshoot; strong communication skills with co-workers, supervision, and management; ability to take ownership, have integrity, determination, perseverance, and flexibility; strong team member skills EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS: Must be 18 years of age Experience with safety and environmental training Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast-paced setting Basic math and computer skills Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management Familiar with inspection equipment, gauges, and measuring tools Mechanically inclined and able to use hand tools Ability to listen effectively and follow verbal and written instructions WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Bending, twisting, and turning. Full use of both hands to finger, handle, or fell objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk to hear. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds frequently and in excess of 140 pounds infrequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must follow OSHA guidelines on respirator fit testing and proper wear. Will wear goggles or face shield at all times while in department. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Bending, twisting, and turning. Full use of both hands to finger, handle, or fell objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk to hear. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds frequently and in excess of 140 pounds infrequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must follow OSHA guidelines on respirator fit testing and proper wear.
