    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p id=\"isPasted\"></p><p><strong>Instrument Maker I&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Position Summary</u></strong></p><p>This position hand finishes, assembles, and tests reusable surgical instrument families with extremely intricate and small size parts that require accurate fitting and aligning of a repetitive nature for the medical industry. Prepare parts that do not fit or work properly. This position requires moderate supervision. This is accomplished by maintaining Tecomet&rsquo;s principles of Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, and Innovations.</p><p><strong><u>Principle Responsibilities</u></strong></p><ul><li>Prepares and selects the required wheels, bench operations, to polish and finish to produce the finished product. &nbsp;</li><li>Rough and fine polishes all the components as needed (polishing, grinding). &nbsp;</li><li>Processes instruments to clean and electropolish as needed.</li><li>Receives product, review paperwork and stage instruments as appropriate. &nbsp;</li><li>Performs preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep including replacing worn components as necessary. &nbsp;</li><li>Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts and teamwork. &nbsp;</li><li>Identifies areas of cost savings, waste reduction, and methods to improve processes, quality, and efficiencies. &nbsp;</li><li>Performs special projects and assists in other areas of plant production as needed. &nbsp;</li><li>Workmanship consists of an ability to hand fabricate with machine assistance finished medical devices within standard times. Quality is a must and proficiency are a requirement. &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Qualification Requirements</u></strong></p><p><strong>Credentials/Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required. &nbsp;</li><li>Math aptitude with the ability to add and subtract decimals. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to read blueprints and measurement tools</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:</strong></p><ul><li>Technical school preferred. &nbsp;</li><li>Experience in Polishing preferred. &nbsp;</li><li>Experience with small or detail assembly.</li><li>Computer skills with Microsoft Office knowledge highly preferred &nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Working knowledge and use of calipers, micrometers, indicators, wrenches, and multiple other tools to perform repairs, alignments and preventative maintenance of machine shop equipment and periphery equipment.</li><li>Experience working with microscopes</li><li>Experienced in a manufacturing facility. &nbsp;</li><li>Has ability to complete work in a safe manner and without generating excessive scrap. &nbsp;</li><li>Detail-oriented and efficient. &nbsp;</li><li>Able to multi-task. &nbsp;</li><li>Able to work under general supervision and follow instructions. &nbsp;</li><li>Able to do repetitive motions and inspections without losing focus. &nbsp;</li><li>Good eye-hand coordination and ability to do fine handwork is essential. &nbsp;</li><li>Good mechanical aptitude is essential. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to read and interpret prints required. &nbsp;</li><li>Able to work independently. &nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Other Requirements&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
