Description
The Senior Data Engineer is a critical role in growing the data maturity of the lab organization at UL Solutions. The candidate will be a part of a multidisciplinary team of software developers, data scientists, and architects working toward developing data solutions for the lab. This is a remote based role and can be located in either Italy or Poland.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehousing. Sources may come from disparate data types, including legacy databases and documents using popular open-source software. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product, technology teams, and management to design and validate the capabilities of the data platform. This position requires a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in data processing and orchestration.
Profile and analyze data in designing scalable solutions. Leverage technologies such as the Azure BI Stack and Power BI visualization platforms, and modern developer tools to execute innovative solutions that facilitate data-driven analysis, automation, and data science. Analyze, develop, and maintain data pipelines from internal and external sources. Apply and build automated test-driven development, continuous integration/delivery, and version control best practices. Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot data pipeline infrastructure.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field 5+ years of experience with creating ETL/ELT pipelines, from scratch using sources from disparate data types including legacy databases and documents. 5+ years in Python and SQL Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams Nice-to-Haves Experience with Azure or AWS, containerization, and associated tooling Experience with tools such as Airflow, Spark, Pandas and/or Software engineering background. Knowledge of data & visualization tools, such as PowerBI Proficiency working in a Linux environment Proficiency with version control using Git/Github What we offer :
