As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> We currently have an exciting opportunity for a<strong> Cook </strong>to join our Food Services team.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> <strong>Employment Status:</strong>  Part-time<strong></strong><strong>Reporting Relationship:</strong> Manager, Patient Food Services</p>\n<p><strong>Hours of work:</strong> Must be available for all rotating shifts including alternating weekends  - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.</p>\n<p><strong>Employee Group: </strong>NOWU<strong>Location:</strong> <strong>Hennick Humber Hospital, </strong>Wilson Site<strong>Hourly Rate</strong>: $28.087 - $29.838</p>\n<p><strong> Position Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for maintaining established standards for food preparation, cooking and execution of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for Hospital patients.</li>\n <li>Other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ontario Secondary School diploma, equivalent, or higher education required.</li>\n <li>Graduate of approved culinary course required</li>\n <li>Provincial Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal)– Cook certification preferred</li>\n <li>5 years’ of current, practical cooking experience required (experience may include 3 years’ apprenticeship experience) </li>\n <li>Food Handlers certification required</li>\n <li>Health Care, Cook chill, Batch cooking, Therapeutic, and Modified texture  experience preferred</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Standards</li>\n <li>Adhere to quality assurance program</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manor</li>\n <li>Ability to read, understand and execute standardized recipes</li>\n <li>Ability to stand, walk, and bend without restrictions</li>\n <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Ability to organize work effectively and work in a fast paced environment</li>\n <li>Ability to problem solve with minimal supervision</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a team environment</li>\n <li>Positive Attendance and Discipline free record required</li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
