Description

The Legal Department Contract Analyst supports the Law Department’s contracting functions, including contract review for compliance with company standards, contract management, database maintenance, and case file organization. The role also provides administrative support as needed, such as drafting correspondence, preparing legal documents, and managing calendars. In addition, the analyst assists with legal research, meeting coordination, client communications, and trial or proceeding preparation to help ensure the efficient operation of the Law Department. This position reports to the Senior Corporate Counsel and provides primary support to that role, as well as general support to other Legal Department team members as needed. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Wood Dale, IL, with a planned relocation to the Merchandise Mart (Chicago) in early 2027. What you will be responsible for: Assists the Legal Team with process of preparing, reviewing, revising, and analyzing commercial contracts and other legal agreements, including NDAs, in a timely fashion while accurately reflecting the business transaction and minimizing risk. Manages document organization and supports contract management processes. Spearheads contract database creation and maintenance. Participates in the selection and implementation of matter management and contract management software, and then become an active utilizer of the same, including some administrative functions such as scanning, field population, date monitoring, report construction-generation, etc. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders on matters requiring corporate legal support. Assists in the issuance and maintenance of legal hold notices, preparation of affidavits, and assists with discovery requests and other procedural aspects of litigation matters. Provides administrative assistance, as needed, including answering phones, obtaining apostilles and notarized documents and any other task as warranted. Takes on additional tasks, special projects, and other related duties and/or direction as assigned and work collaboratively with all team members at all levels in the organization.
