    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Peraton is seeking a <strong>Senior Systems Administrator</strong> to support enterprise infrastructure operations for NASA’s Deep Space Network (DSN) Administrative Network in Monrovia, CA. This role is responsible for provisioning, configuration, operations, maintenance, and support of enterprise systems and associated infrastructure that enable critical mission support functions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Senior Systems Administrator operates with a high degree of independence and technical judgment, serving as a subject matter expert across the Windows enterprise environment. This position balances steady-state operations with modernization initiatives to enhance automation, strengthen security posture, and improve infrastructure resilience in a highly regulated, mission-driven environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as the technical lead for Windows-based enterprise infrastructure supporting the DSN Administrative Network, delivering secure, reliable computing services across data center and end-user environments.</li>\n <li>Administer and optimize Microsoft enterprise platforms including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and identity/access management services in alignment with NASA and federal cybersecurity requirements.</li>\n <li>Support and maintain virtualized infrastructure (e.g., Nutanix, VMware) and Windows-based application services, including provisioning, patching, upgrades, configuration, and lifecycle management.</li>\n <li>Implement and manage security controls across Windows environments, including endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, auditing, backup/recovery, and support for DRP and COOP objectives.</li>\n <li>Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across server, workstation, and application layers; support interoperability within hybrid Windows/Linux environments.</li>\n <li>Lead system modernization efforts including automation, performance tuning, capacity planning, and hardware refresh initiatives.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain enterprise standards, configuration baselines, and operational documentation to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and long-term mission support.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cybersecurity, network engineering, and application teams to ensure secure and reliable service delivery.</li>\n <li>Provide operational support beyond standard business hours as needed to support mission operations and time-sensitive events.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree</li>\n <li>Strong Windows enterprise administration experience.</li>\n <li>Experience with virtualization platforms and patch/compliance processes (NIST/STIG/CIS).</li>\n <li>Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Linux in hybrid environments.</li>\n <li>U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain clearance.</li>\n <li>Must live within commuting distance of Monrovia, CA and hold a valid CA driver’s license (Real ID).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Nice to Have:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>PowerShell or automation experience.</li>\n <li>RHEL/OpenShift familiarity.</li>\n <li>Experience in federal or regulated environments.</li>\n <li>Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Security+, Red Hat).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Peraton Overview</h2>\n<p>Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
