This role ensures compliance with DNV Healthcare standards, HIPAA regulations, and all applicable Texas state laws governing medical records in a behavioral health setting.</p>\n<p>The HIM Manager oversees medical record operations, release of information, data governance, and documentation compliance while supporting quality outcomes, patient safety, and accreditation readiness.</p>\n<h2><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></h2>\n<h3><strong>Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure full compliance with DNV Healthcare accreditation standards related to documentation, record retention, and information governance</li>\n <li>Maintain compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules</li>\n <li>Ensure adherence to Texas Health and Human Services and Texas Medical Board requirements</li>\n <li>Participate in DNV surveys, audits, and corrective action plans</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain HIM policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Medical Record Management</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee creation, maintenance, storage, retrieval, and destruction of medical records</li>\n <li>Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of clinical documentation</li>\n <li>Monitor delinquent records and enforce physician completion requirements</li>\n <li>Maintain record retention schedules per Texas law</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Health Information Systems & Data Integrity</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and HIM workflows</li>\n <li>Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability of patient information</li>\n <li>Collaborate with IT on system optimization, security controls, and downtime procedures</li>\n <li>Conduct routine audits to ensure documentation compliance</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#ZR</p>\n<h2>Requirements/Qualifications</h2>\n<h3><strong>Education</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or related field required</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Experience</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 3–5 years of HIM experience in a hospital setting</li>\n <li>Behavioral health experience strongly preferred</li>\n <li>Experience with accreditation standards (DNV, The Joint Commission, or similar)</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of HIPAA and Texas medical records laws</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Understanding of DNV accreditation standards and survey readiness</li>\n <li>Proficiency in EHR systems and HIM software</li>\n <li>Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information</li>\n</ul>",
