This opportunity is perfect for anyone looking to be a part of a growing department with an expanding packaging footprint at a global company!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>PURPOSE OF POSITION:</strong></p><p>The Engineer will design, test and implement packaging designs to jointly develop and design derivative and new product concepts for JSP and its customers and to meet the needs of all key stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, JSP Mold, customers, and suppliers. The Engineer will also:</p><ul><li>Provide solutions that optimize cost, material handling, safety, storage space, weight, product cleanliness &amp; protection and standardization.</li><li>Interact with key stakeholders to facilitate the development of new production capable part/system designs, gathering information from a variety of sources.</li><li>Participate in the packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, performance testing, and flawless launch execution with both internal operations and external suppliers.</li><li>Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely and cost effective solutions. Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.</li><li>Review data and prints with key stakeholders for omissions, errors, content and accuracy to ensure controlled and managed CAD data, prints and GD&amp;T sheets.</li><li>Interface with customers and suppliers in a positive manner that enforces the image of JSP as an expert in the field of product design and development.</li><li>Resolve conflicts between customer design requirements and our process capability through negotiation. Conduct economic studies of various design options that meet the customer’s performance requirements.
