    "description": "<p><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\">The International University of Science &amp; Technology in Kuwait (IUK) is a newly established private university in Kuwait, with a new campus located in the heart of Kuwait near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), the University offers a wide range of academic programs in Engineering, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. In addition to the academic programs, the IUK has established the University Foundation Program (UFP) that offers English and Maths foundation programs. The IUK is looking for dynamic full-time instructors who are passionate about teaching, contributing to developing a vibrant and successful learning environment with students. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\">The Department of Social Sciences and Social Services at the IUK seeks candidates for an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Instructor</span> position to teach Sociology &amp; Social Services courses. The faculty members will teach introductory-level courses in Sociology and Social Services, as well as upper-level undergraduate courses in the area of specialization and related fields. In addition to teaching, successful candidates are expected to maintain significant scholarly work and professional services.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\">The primary role of the faculty members at the IUK is to promote high-quality teaching, research, and services. Besides, he/she should collaborate with the Head of Department, College's Dean, and the colleagues to achieve the department's and College's mission, mentor junior colleagues, and teaching assistants, and support the department and the University with several administrative and academic services.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\">The teaching load is 12 credits (contact hours) per week. In addition to classes, the faculty members are expected to maintain office hours, provide advisement for students and participate in curriculum development, and contribute to the university professional development activities.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Teach different Sociology/Social Services courses according to his/her specialty and experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Promote innovation in teaching by introducing new teaching methodologies and strategies. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Engage with students in and out of the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Mentor new colleagues and teaching assistants </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Support the mission of the Department and College at the IUK by following the set curriculum and working towards achieving the program objectives and student learning outcomes. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Follow the university bylaws and regulations and promote the institutional environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Commit to teaching schedules, office hours, preparation, service, and professional development.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Provide academic support to other colleagues in the department.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Participate in the College's and the University's events and supporting collegiality. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Support the College and the University in organizing seminars, international conferences, and faculty events.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Serve in the College's and university's committees as needed.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2d2d2d; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Master's</span> in Sociology/Social Services related degrees from a recognized university</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Required Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> A minimum of three years of teaching experience at a university/college level </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Proven experience in using different learning management systems and in adopting e-learning teaching strategies. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> An experience that proves an understanding of a multicultural academic environment, and understanding of students' needs, including those of special needs.<br></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Technical Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Excellent writing and interpersonal skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> General computer and LMS skills</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\">Behavioral Skills </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> Strong oral and written communication skills </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\"> People and time management skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px\">A passion for teaching</span></li>\n</ul>",
