The Junior Accountant provides financial information by assisting in the performance of the accounting responsibilities. The Junior Accountant is responsible for general day-to-day operation entries to assistant the Finance Department. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Prepare and record invoices for customer accounts.</li><li>Post customer and client payments by recording cash and checks.</li><li>Scanning, printing, and filing financial forms to assist with monthly grant vouchering.</li><li>Reconcile daily store transactions with bank activity.</li><li>Record daily store sales and donations into accounting software.</li><li>Communicate with procurement manager, staff, and vendors.</li><li>Contributions to the team effort by accomplishing all assigned tasks in a productive manner, focusing on quality workmanship.</li><li>Cross coverage as needed for other accounting positions.</li><li>Support financial guidelines and internal controls at the Rescue Mission.</li><li>Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the job.</li><li>Perform other necessary accounting duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Education Requirements</u></strong></p><ul><li>Associate degree desired or minimum of three years accounting/bookkeeping experience.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must be able to work independently as well as thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment.</li><li>Must have the ability to approach situations with a problem solving methodology.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Knowledge, Skills, &amp; Abilities Needed to Perform Effectively in this Position</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Attention to detail is critical.</li><li>Good verbal and written skills.</li><li>Ability to work in fast paced, client focused, dynamic environment.</li><li>Accounting work experience.</li><li>Practical experience working with MS Office application.</li><li>Knowledge of MS products a plus (Excel &amp; Word).</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Additional Requirements</u></strong></p><ul><li>Valid NYS driver&rsquo;s License.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Pay:&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>$16.00 &ndash; $20.00 per hour.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Working at the Rescue Mission is a chance to have more than just a career. &nbsp;It is a chance to be part of a team that makes a difference every day.
