Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The&nbsp;Field Technician<strong>&nbsp;</strong>is responsible for&nbsp;performing field inspections and construction materials testing as needed to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications. The Technician is also responsible for preparing inspection daily reports and testing data sheets.</p><p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></p><p>Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related duties.</p><p>In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.<strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li>Performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.</li><li>Operates testing equipment and conducts testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting.</li><li>Works utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.</li><li>Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.</li><li>Makes detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results.</li><li>Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results.</li><li>Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.</li><li>Communicates effectively with client and project teams.</li><li>Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.</li></ul><p><strong>What it takes to be successful in this role:</strong></p><ul><li>Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required</li><li>External (or task related) certifications based on region and state may be required</li><li>Basic math, calculator, and computer skills are required</li><li>The ability to read and understand work plans is required</li><li>Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed</li><li>Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record is required</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds if needed. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.</li><li>Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound</li><li>Ability to kneel and squat occasionally</li><li>Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)</li><li>Ability to climb occasionally</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED is preferred</li><li>Experience performing field and/or construction materials testing and/or inspections is preferred<ul><li>No experience <i>required</i> – we offer in-house training!</li></ul></li><li>ACI/ICC/TDOT certifications are highly preferred</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
