Considered one of the most prominent Workers’ Compensation defense firms in California, GMS takes pride in protecting the rights of employers, insurance carriers and Third Party Administrators.<br></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>With offices serving all venues in California, our attorneys provide high-quality representation for our premier client base of insurance carriers, third-party administrators and self-insured employers.  </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Position Summary</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>The Associate Attorney will be responsible for all aspects of the workers’ compensation case, including evaluating the merits of the case, providing guidance and counsel to the clients through effective communication, medical review, and negotiating, settling and litigating cases, if necessary.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span>Essential Job Functions </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Manages a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Creates litigation plans.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Creates budget plans, if necessary.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Conducts discovery.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Travels to court and other appearances.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Tries cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Composes motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Prepares cases for trial.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Communicates with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to effectively represent clients.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Strong negotiation and communication skills.<br></span></li>\n<li><span>Should have at least 5 years experience in the defense of workers’ compensation cases.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life, STD and LTD insurance and 401(k).</span></p>",
