Description

On behalf of VetJobs/MilitarySpouseJobs, thank you for your interest. We are assisting our partnering company, listed below, with this position. It is open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. If you have the required skill set, education requirements, and experience, please click the submit button and follow for next steps. Under the limited supervision of the Manager, Field Maintenance, the Fleet Manager is responsible for maintaining the care and operation of all Authority vehicles, generators and equipment including licensing, replacement, and customization. Field Maintenance maintains approximately 452 pieces of equipment, including 42 pieces at the AGC Airport. The equipment is both motorized and non-motorized and includes the ACAA Police, Bomb Squad and Fire Departments, as well as aerial work platform lifts. Here is how the Fleet Manager will help: • Supervise, evaluate, prioritize, and distribute work to Heavy and Light mechanics; ensure proper materials, tools, schedules, and support are provided. • Manage staff in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and union agreements; recommend and implement disciplinary or corrective actions when needed. • Develop, establish, and implement fleet management work rules, safety policies, procedures, and overall maintenance standards. • Plan, manage, and ensure compliance with the Preventive Maintenance Program, including disinfecting schedules, PM/service board updates, and maintenance accuracy. • Maintain and update fleet asset lists, lifetime vehicle records, and all paperwork required under Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Laws, including inspection and emissions records. • Inspect vehicles and equipment or oversee inspections to ensure safety, operational integrity, longevity estimates, and correction of deficiencies. • Analyze and prepare cost reports for labor, maintenance, and operating expenses; submit annual budget needs and support preparation of the Annual Capital Equipment Budget. • Manage acquisition activities including writing specifications, customizing new vehicles, preparing vehicles for auction, and overseeing vendor relationships. • Oversee computerized fuel dispensing systems, manage training and operation of new equipment, and provide technical assistance as needed. • Develop short- and long-range maintenance goals; maintain internal system records and Microsoft Office reports; and report fleet conditions and replacement needs to the Director, Field Maintenance. Qualifications The following requirements list the minimum education/training/experience required to qualify for this job. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted. Requirements to apply for the role of Fleet Manager are: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering from an accredited college or university or a Trade School certification equivalent. • 5-7 years’ experience in fleet management, inventory and parts management, and procurement practices. • 3-5 years’ supervisory and people leadership experience. • Proficiency in computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, or JDE. • Ability to maintain a valid Pennsylvania Class A driver’s license, Pennsylvania State Inspection license and PA State Emissions throughout employment. We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases: • Extensive knowledge of fleet maintenance, including sourcing parts and vendors, fleet administration, work control, and workplace safety hazards and precautions. • Extensive knowledge of supervisory principles and practices. • Considerable knowledge of labor agreements, personnel policies, departmental rules, regulations, and automated database management. • Ability to communicate clearly and logically in both oral and written form. • Establish and maintain records, prepare accurate reports, and produce effective correspondence. • Independently lead, motivate, supervise, direct, plan, monitor, and evaluate the work of employees. • Research and effectively gather relevant information to make sound decisions and strategically plan tasks, goals, obstacles, and timelines. • Ability to plan workforce effectively, estimate costs for equipment, parts, and repair time, and ensure efficient assignment of duties. • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative, constructive working relationships with supervisors, associates, the public, and to serve with honesty, integrity, and behaviors aligned with the Authority’s values. • Ability to properly use and wear required PPE, including steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, hard hats, reflective vests, and fall protection devices. Field Maintenance maintains&nbsp;<br>approximately 452 pieces of equipment, including 42 pieces at the AGC Airport. The equipment&nbsp;<br>is both motorized and non-motorized and includes the ACAA Police, Bomb Squad and Fire&nbsp;<br>Departments, as well as aerial work platform lifts.<br>Here is how the Fleet Manager will help:&nbsp;<br>• Supervise, evaluate, prioritize, and distribute work to Heavy and Light mechanics;&nbsp;<br>ensure proper materials, tools, schedules, and support are provided.<br>• Manage staff in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and union agreements;&nbsp;<br>recommend and implement disciplinary or corrective actions when needed.<br>• Develop, establish, and implement fleet management work rules, safety policies,&nbsp;<br>procedures, and overall maintenance standards.<br>• Plan, manage, and ensure compliance with the Preventive Maintenance Program,&nbsp;<br>including disinfecting schedules, PM/service board updates, and maintenance accuracy.<br>• Maintain and update fleet asset lists, lifetime vehicle records, and all paperwork&nbsp;<br>required under Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Laws, including inspection and emissions&nbsp;<br>records.<br>• Inspect vehicles and equipment or oversee inspections to ensure safety, operational&nbsp;<br>integrity, longevity estimates, and correction of deficiencies.<br>• Analyze and prepare cost reports for labor, maintenance, and operating expenses;&nbsp;<br>submit annual budget needs and support preparation of the Annual Capital Equipment&nbsp;<br>Budget.<br>• Manage acquisition activities including writing specifications, customizing new vehicles,&nbsp;<br>preparing vehicles for auction, and overseeing vendor relationships.<br>• Oversee computerized fuel dispensing systems, manage training and operation of new&nbsp;<br>equipment, and provide technical assistance as needed.<br>• Develop short- and long-range maintenance goals; maintain internal system records and&nbsp;<br>Microsoft Office reports; and report fleet conditions and replacement needs to the&nbsp;<br>Director, Field Maintenance.<br>The successful candidate for the role of Fleet Manager will demonstrate the following key&nbsp;<br>competencies needed in our culture:<br>• Communication – Able to clearly articulate short-term vision, department goals and&nbsp;<br>objectives; Collaborate effectively with peers; Able to communicate policy and strategy&nbsp;<br>to team members.&nbsp;<br>• Strategic Thinking – Able to determine short-term outcomes and give guidance on how&nbsp;<br>to meet goals; Able to direct and deliver plans to achieve efficient, on-time results.<br>• Team Builder – Able to direct and implement project objectives through “one team”&nbsp;<br>approach; Focused on developing team; direct work of team through leadership and&nbsp;<br>accountability; Makes informed decisions.&nbsp;<br>• Customer Centricity– Leads team to identify and improve customer experience; Directs&nbsp;<br>and implements improvements that positively impacts most stakeholders.<br>Qualifications<br>The following requirements list the minimum education/training/experience required to&nbsp;<br>qualify for this job.
