DESCRIPTION: The Process Technician operates process equipment, both the blend tank system and the hot fill system. They ensure smooth and consistent operation of equipment to ensure product is manufactured and packaged in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. Each responsibility is performed in accordance with health and safety, quality, and food safety procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: Equipment Operation : Ensures equipment is operating effectively, reporting, and communicating deficiencies with the production supervisor. Operates equipment according to SOPs. Material Preparation: Works with the lead material handler to ensure proper raw materials are staged and prepped for production and with quality department to inspect raw materials. Blending: Follows specific recipes provided by production manager. Food Safety : Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and safety standards. Forklift : Forklift certified or able to obtain certification. Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent Production Skills: Must have ability to become proficient with process equipment. Analytical Skills: Must be quality conscious and detail oriented. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities as well as easily adapt to changing situations. Communication : Excellent written and oral communication skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Production Setting: Exposed to a combination of food production environments and normal office environments. Team Collaboration : Frequent interaction with team members and other departments, requiring effective communication and collaboration. Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Communication : Regularly required to talk and hear, both in person and over the phone. Mobility : Required to stand and walk for duration of shift, and bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions frequently Lifting : Required to lift and maneuver 50lbs regularly QUALITY STATEMENT: Our Quality and Food Safety Management strategy is anchored by our food safety and quality culture and a two-pronged approach to “be the best” as we produce “only the best”. Every employee has a role to play in this strategy as outlined by the following: Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), allergen control, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements so that we make consistently safe, quality products. Ensure the presence of visitors, contractors, and customers are documented on each visit in and out of the facility to maintain good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense/food security and HACCP controls. Report all food safety and quality issues to management immediately. Partner with colleagues across all functions to share knowledge, skills, and information regarding quality and food safety. Adhere to all health and safety work practices. Exhibit an understanding of quality and food safety standards and be able to speak about the Finlays Solutions quality and food safety system and your role in it. Handle customer complaints in a timely and professional manner so that the customer is put first, always. Participate fully in Finlays Solutions programs that drive continuous improvement methodologies.
