In this role, you will collaborate with HR colleagues, IT, Hire-To-Retire (HTR), and external partners to enhance payroll operations and improve employee experience.</p><p></p><p>You will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:</p><ul><li><p>Identify opportunities and lead implementation efforts for process improvements and automation in payroll and associated processes, while leveraging a thorough understanding of U.S. and Canada payroll processes to drive improvements and enhance overall efficiency within the payroll department.</p></li><li><p>Collaborating with Compensation, Benefits, HTR, IT and external partners to assist in driving new Workday functionality and/or integration design and execution</p></li><li><p>Analyze data issues for building long-term sustainable solutions </p></li><li><p>Demonstrate expertise in merger and acquisition activities as they relate to payroll processes, including supporting integration efforts, identifying impacts, and ensuring a smooth transition within payroll operations.</p></li><li><p>Maintain knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements to ensure processes are compliant</p></li><li><p>Seek, share, and apply external trend knowledge and relevant information to further enhance Payroll processes</p></li><li><p>Managing key projects as assigned</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Your Skills and Expertise  </b><br />To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and three (3) years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and/or Finance in a private, public, government or military environment</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>OR</b></p><ul><li><p>High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and seven (7) years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and/or Finance in a private, public, government or military environment</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:</p><ul><li><p>Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Workday, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.</p></li><li><p>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</p></li><li><p>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.</p></li><li><p>Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Work location: </b>This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.</p><p><b>Travel: </b>May include up to 5% domestic</p><p><b>Relocation: </b>Not authorized</p><p></p><p><b>Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).</b></p><p></p></div><p><b>Supporting Your Well-being </b></p><p>3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
