The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the Software Development Life Cycle of real-time object-oriented applications on both Department of Defense and Commercial optical lidar systems. &nbsp;This position requires a background in all facets of performing software engineering design, analysis and testing of software engineering projects and products.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Software requirements definition; architectural and detail design; coding; unit, integration and system level qualification testing; support design reviews, peer reviews and generate documentation</li><li>Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment</li><li>Perform software configuration management</li><li>Interface with multi-disciplines; Engineering, Production, Research &amp; Development</li><li>Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources</li><li>Support software QA and optimize I/O performance</li><li>Provide postproduction support</li><li>Interface with hardware design and development</li><li>Assess third party and open-source software</li><li>Plan, develop, and direct larger technical component design with many complex features</li><li>Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science, mathematics or related technical field with a minimum of 6+ years&rsquo; experience, or a Master&rsquo;s degree with a minimum of 4+ years&rsquo; experience, or in lieu of a degree 10+ years&rsquo; experience.</li><li>Experience with C/C++, Python software languages, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs); Wind River Tornado or Work Bench experience preferred.</li><li>Experience with object-oriented designs</li><li>Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems (RTOS)</li><li>Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer reviews</li><li>Thorough understanding of Software life cycle</li><li>Working knowledge of OS/Embedded coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems</li><li>Ability to read schematics and data sheets for components and understanding of hardware interfaces</li><li>Experience with MS Office tools and doing presentations</li><li>An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with Defect tracking; JIRA</li><li>Experience with Source Control S/W tools, i.e. Bitbucket</li><li>Familiarity with Wind River and Linux</li><li>Experience with Secure Boot and Encryption techniques</li><li>Familiarity with interfacing communications buses such as PCIe, PCMCIA, and VPX is a plus</li><li>Experience with ADA programming</li><li>Comfortable interfacing with Customer</li><li>Aerospace industry experience</li><li>Familiarity with Software Quality and AS9100 requirements</li><li>Proposal Development - BOE&rsquo;s and time estimates experience.<br><br></li></ul><p><strong>Benefits&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including but not limited to:</p><ul><li>Health benefits</li><li>Medical&nbsp;</li><li>Dental&nbsp;</li><li>Vision</li><li>Basic life with AD&amp;D</li><li>Short-term disability</li><li>Long-term disability</li><li>Ancillary (Voluntary life with AD&amp;D, accident, critical illness, hospital, and pet)</li><li>Spending accounts (HSA, FSA, and DCFSA)</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Holidays</li><li>401(k) (including matching company contribution)</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Leaves (Parental, pregnancy, and military)</li><li>Potential annual bonus</li></ul><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p>Note: <em>This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job.</em></p><p><em>Trident OPS is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
