Within the Technology Team, you’ll partner with our global team of engineers and product managers designing, architecting, building, and testing impactful products. The Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer will contribute to our product vision by delivering a high level of quality and technical excellence. Success will require fluency in SaaS-based application development, test automation, analytical skills, and unwavering dedication to software quality.  </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<strong>What You’ll Do</strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Contribute to the <strong>design</strong>, <strong>development</strong>, and <strong>delivery</strong> of releasable, high-quality backend services and APIs primarily using<strong> Go (Golang).</strong></li>\n <li>Author <strong>backend code</strong> aligned with internal standards and architectural guidance to ensure maintainability, scalability, and consistency across platform services</li>\n <li><strong>Design, build, and evolve APIs and service integrations</strong> that consume and process data from internal and external platforms</li>\n <li>Develop, maintain, and update automated tests for backend services as functionality evolves</li>\n <li>Assess the impact of changes by actively participating in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions with engineering and product teams</li>\n <li>Architect and maintain scalable services intended for deployment in <strong>Kubernetes</strong> environments; ensure services align with cloud-native best practices</li>\n <li>Monitor backend services and API performance in production and non-production environments</li>\n <li>Debug and resolve service-level errors, data issues, and performance bottlenecks</li>\n <li>Continuously learn about new backend tools, platforms, and technologies</li>\n</ul>\n<strong>As a Senior Software Engineer, you will also:</strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Support the team by providing detailed feedback during code reviews and guiding complex backend and API-related problem solving</li>\n <li>Contribute to technical decisions by identifying opportunities and risks related to service architecture, data flow, and integrations</li>\n <li>Share knowledge of backend languages, frameworks, API design patterns, data access strategies, testing approaches, and tooling</li>\n <li>Support continuous improvement of internal processes and documentation, championing principles-based approaches to backend design, implementation, and testing</li>\n</ul>\n<strong>We’re looking for someone who:</strong>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Has the ability to work from an Applied Systems office or 100% remotely</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Your experience should include some or all of the following:</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li><strong>3+ years of production experience specifically using Go (Golang) to build APIs.</strong></li>\n   <li>Experience building and consuming <strong>RESTful or event-driven APIs</strong> and integrating with platform-level data sources</li>\n   <li>Strong proficiency with <strong>Kubernetes</strong> (containerization, orchestration, Helm charts, and service mesh concepts).</li>\n   <li>Hands-on experience with <strong>GCP (Google Cloud Platform)</strong>, specifically with data-centric services like <strong>Pub/Sub and BigQuery</strong>.</li>\n   <li>Knowledge of professional software engineering practices including backend-focused SDLCs, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations</li>\n   <li>Familiarity with Change Data Capture (CDC) frameworks, like Debezium.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<strong>The Senior Software Engineer position requires:</strong>\n<ul>\n <li>5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong emphasis on backend focus</li>\n <li>Experience providing technical guidance and support to other engineers, particularly in backend architecture and integration challenges</li>\n <li>Advanced communication skills, with the ability to distill complex backend, API, and data concepts to support team problem solving</li>\n <li>Proven ability to advance technical discussions, debates, and reviews while contributing to positive and constructive communication across the team</li>\n <li>We know that talent comes from all backgrounds and experience levels. To determine a new team member’s starting pay, we consider a variety of factors, including someone’s depth, breadth, and variety of experience, skills, and responsibilities.
