Ensure work is performed safely in environmentally sensitive areas such as ash ponds, landfills, wetlands, and remediation sites. Enforce compliance with project plans, specifications, erosion and sediment control requirements, and health, safety, and environmental plans. Monitor site conditions including slopes, soft soils, saturated ground, containment systems, and work near water bodies to maintain stable and safe operations. Coordinate with project management, environmental staff, survey crews, inspectors, and subcontractors to achieve grading tolerances and project milestones. Support and oversee installation of environmental systems such as liners, caps, geosynthetics, drainage features, and soil cover systems. Conduct daily safety meetings and promote a proactive safety culture in compliance with OSHA and site-specific requirements.
