We are looking for an experienced Utility Coordinator to join our team in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.. In this role, you will perform the critical task of coordinating railroad utility permits and assisting with managing the permitting program for various utility and infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities of this role will include:
Performing railroad and utility coordination activities for a large electrical utility company that interacts with four Class 1 railroads and a variety of state and local public agencies under the guidance of senior staff.
Serving as a liaison between utility companies and project stakeholders.
Reviews project plans, manages permit reporting tools, identifies potential conflicts, schedules, and timelines.
Reviews railroad fees associated with obtaining permits on behalf of project stakeholders.
Understands and negotiates up front, one-time, and recurring fees for railroad permits on behalf of the utilities.
Serves as the primary point of contact for all utility coordination activities on assigned projects.
May perform other duties associated with the role.
Qualifications for this role:
High school diploma or GED with relevant utility coordination and/or permitting experience considered in lieu of a degree. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field is a plus but not required.
Relevant utility permitting experience; railroad permitting experience is preferred.
Strives to establish, maintain, develop, and grow working relationships with internal and external clients and customers.
Can manage multi-tasking on many small projects with multiple deadlines and moving targets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Ability to interface with the client and provide accurate details with a short response time.
Relevant experience developing and/or reviewing utility relocation designs and plan and profile exhibits. Other closely related experience may be considered.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus but not required.
Willingness and ability to obtain necessary Utility Coordination and Railroad certifications in the state.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Pro, and GIS systems.
Valid Driver's License.
