    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Candidates for Rigger will be trained in the following requirements: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Selection and use of wire rope, chain and synthetic web slings, rigging hardware, and lifting devices</li>\n <li>Interpretation of rated  charts for rigging gear</li>\n <li>Safe rigging practices and procedures</li>\n <li>Hand and radio communications and the responsibilities of the Rigger in Charge</li>\n <li>Determination of weight and center of gravity of loads</li>\n <li>Selection and use of hoists, chain falls and come-alongs</li>\n <li>Lifting and Handling gear inspection</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Using the above acquired skills the rigger will be expected to support the following shipbuilding processes: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support the assembly and disassembly of machinery and equipment on and off the ships</li>\n <li>Responsible for lifting, moving and positioning ships and shipyard machinery, equipment, structural parts and other heavy loads</li>\n <li>Rig nuclear components</li>\n <li>Working under radiological controls (obtain and work with a TLD).
