Position Overview
This is a Graduate Assistant (GA) position serving as the College of Business (COB) Proctor & Classroom Tech, which assists and supports COB faculty, staff, and students.
Hours per Week
20-25 hours per week.
Sunday-Friday 10am-3pm, 6pm-10pm.

Department Specific Job Functions
The College of Business (COB) Proctor & Classroom Tech position will assist and support the COB faculty, staff, and students by proctoring business exams in the College of Business Testing Center and/or assisting faculty with in-person and virtual classroom management for extended and alternative instructional delivery courses. Duties such as proctoring, greeting visitors, passing out papers, collecting assignments, printing, preparing classroom technology, data entry, answering questions, providing customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Perform computer and customer service related duties in an office setting. Typical duties may include but are not limited to typing, filing, answering telephones, customer service, scheduling appointments, and Microsoft Office experience. Proctors also serve as graduate assistants for the College of Business and are responsible for working with their assigned faculty member on their research needs. Students are required to participate in a research activity each semester to maintain their graduate student status. Responsibilities also include other duties as assigned.
Enrollment Requirements
Fall/Spring Semesters : All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester : Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.
Enrollment Exception : If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. This pertains to both regular and Federal Work Study Program positions. Contact [email protected] for more information.

The successful candidate will honor the established protocols, have a teachable spirit with the ability to show attention to detail, and demonstrate a professional attitude and appearance. Duties such as proctoring, greeting visitors, passing out papers, collecting assignments, printing, preparing classroom technology, data entry, answering questions, providing customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Perform computer and customer service related duties in an office setting. Typical duties may include but are not limited to typing, filing, answering telephones, customer service, scheduling appointments, and Microsoft Office experience. Proctors also serve as graduate assistants for the College of Business and are responsible for working with their assigned faculty member on their research needs. Students are required to participate in a research activity each semester to maintain their graduate student status. Responsibilities also include other duties as assigned. \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nEnrollment Requirements\\r\\n\\r\\nFall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.\\r\\n\\r\\nSummer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.\\r\\n\\r\\nEnrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. This pertains to both regular and Federal Work Study Program positions. While a student’s primary function at UCO is the achievement of one’s degree goals, we expect your devoted time and attention to the work at hand while you are on the clock. Excellent confidentiality, organization, written and verbal communication skills are needed to succeed in this role. We expect this student staff member to be able to remain calm under pressure. Required character traits needed would be dependability, thoroughness, detail oriented, and initiative. Have sensitivity of intercultural communication and have good interpersonal skills. A basic knowledge of office equipment is needed. Computer literacy is required, including Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
