Description
SUMMARY
The Operational Excellence Manager is a cross-functional contributor responsible for driving continuous improvement, process standardization, and technical training across Envent's field and shop operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role combines operational excellence methodology with hands-on training program management to close skill gaps, reduce incidents, and build a high-performing, safety-first culture.
The Manager partners closely with Operations, HSE, Engineering, Maintenance, and field leadership to identify improvement opportunities, develop and maintain training content, administer the Learning Management System (LMS), and lead structured problem-solving efforts that drive measurable results. Travel up to 30% is required to support field evaluations, on-site training, and operational assessments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Essential duties may vary according to region, division area, and/or assignment. Other duties may be assigned.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Lead the design and deployment of operational excellence initiatives aligned with enterprise goals, including process standardization, efficiency improvements, and site-level performance programs. Establish and monitor KPIs across operations to identify performance gaps, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective action plans that enhance productivity and quality. Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, reduce variability, and improve execution reliability. Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical standards, and maintenance procedures in coordination with Engineering and Operations. Conduct operational diagnostics, process audits, and field assessments to evaluate adherence to standards and identify improvement opportunities. Champion a culture of safety and regulatory compliance by reinforcing operational standards during audits, field visits, and training interactions. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Build and maintain operational dashboards and reporting mechanisms to communicate performance trends, risks, and improvement progress to leadership. Track completion rates, competency certifications, training compliance, and incident patterns across all regions and departments. Generate and present regular metrics to leadership, identifying trends, root causes, and areas for focused improvement. Support data-driven decision-making through established governance models and escalation processes.
Training Program Management
Own the full training lifecycle — from needs assessment and curriculum development to delivery, competency evaluation, and ongoing program improvement. Develop and maintain training materials including manuals, SOPs, job aids, e-learning modules, and field assessment tools covering equipment operation, maintenance, safety, and technical procedures. Facilitate hands-on instruction in classroom, shop, field, and jobsite settings; conduct live demonstrations, simulations, and competency assessments to evaluate and close skill gaps. Partner with Operations and field leadership to ensure training content reflects current equipment configurations, operational requirements, and industry regulations. Support onboarding and qualification processes for new technicians, ensuring a structured and effective ramp-up experience. Travel to field locations to deliver on-site training, conduct evaluations, and support technician development.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
Administer the company's LMS platform — including configuration, user management, course deployment, and compliance reporting Build and maintain digital training content including e-learning modules, videos, assessments, and job aids within the LMS. Track and report on training completion, competency certifications, and compliance status across all regions. Support the ongoing optimization of the LMS in collaboration with IT and Operations leadership. Risk, Safety & Compliance
Develop and support risk mitigation strategies and operational contingency plans to ensure resilience and minimize disruption. Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and other safety assessments to ensure training and procedures reflect risk-mitigation strategies. Reinforce HSE expectations and safety culture in all training sessions, field interactions, and operational reviews. Promote stop-work authority and incident reporting culture across all field operations. Cross-Functional Coordination & Project Support
Serve as a central point of integration between Operations, HSE, Fabrication, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to align priorities and coordinate improvement initiatives. Guide operational readiness for complex or non-standard projects, ensuring stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and timely execution. Participate in field visits, job walks, pre-execution reviews, and post-project debriefs to gather training and improvement requirements. Champion operational innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies and tools that improve efficiency, transparency, and learning outcomes. QUALIFICATIONS

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Envent Corporation insurance provider. Professional training certifications (e.g., ATD, CPLP) or process improvement certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt) are a plus but not required. EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Operations, ora related field; or equivalent technical education and field experience. Demonstrated experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred). Experience building or delivering technical training programs for field technicians in an industrial or field services environment. Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., TalentLMS, Workday Learning, Cornerstone, or similar) and e-learning content development. Strong working knowledge of industrial equipment including pumps, blowers, compressors, instrumentation, controls, and related systems. WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience in industrial operations, field services, equipment operation, maintenance, or a combination of operations and training roles. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires a combination of office and fieldwork, including sitting, walking, climbing, stooping, and bending. The Operational Excellence Manager may occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. Must be physically fit and able to pass the company physical examination. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, industrial plant environments, fumes, airborne particles, and potentially hazardous situations. All required PPE is provided and must be used as conditions dictate.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS
Company-specific and customer safety training is required. Availability for occasional support during high-priority operational needs, including a 24/7 operating environment (nights, weekends, and holidays), may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Work Authorization & Site Access Requirements: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and must be able to obtain and maintain all required site access credentials, including a TWIC card where applicable.
