    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Uintah County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking a qualified individual to assist in coordinating countywide youth programs as part of the county 4-H team. Responsibilities include recruiting and supporting volunteers and teen leaders to help lead 4-H clubs and events, providing engaging educational experiences, and promoting the principles of positive youth development through 4-H programming.This position will include some direct programming with youth, with a primary focus on building community partnerships and expanding program opportunities. The individual will also lead and advise local 4-H groups in managing funds that support youth programming and provide trainings and support for adult volunteers. This is a full-time benefited position. This position will report to Uintah County Extension Faculty.</p>\n<p>Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Advance the 4-H program in the county by recruiting and training volunteers and youth leaders to organize and run 4-H Clubs. Provide support and guidance to existing and new volunteers and 4-H clubs.</li>\n <li>Promote Regional and State 4-H programs. This may include marketing, registering, and supporting volunteers in facilitating opportunities</li>\n <li>Support a variety of Extension outreach activities that may include school enrichment activities such as Farm Field Day, Career Days, camps, and teen leadership programs etc.</li>\n <li>Respond to requests, office visits, telephone calls, emails, and other correspondence promptly and professionally.</li>\n <li>Be an active member of the USU Youth Programs Team, which includes participating in meetings, serving on working groups, and assisting at regional and state events</li>\n <li>Support the Civil Rights mandate of Utah State University Extension and implement innovative approaches to reach diverse audiences.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field, associate degree plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>\n <li>Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet, Zoom, etc.)</li>\n <li>Desire to work with volunteers and youth leaders</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials</li>\n <li>Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with 4-H or other youth serving organizations.</li>\n <li>Experience with recruiting, supervising, and working with volunteers.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the Land Grant University system.</li>\n <li>Prior experience with community programming</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work independently and as a team member.</li>\n <li>Strong oral and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to teach, manage and engage an audience (youth and adult).</li>\n <li>Strong computer and technology skills (Microsoft Office, Canva)</li>\n <li>Ability to market USU Extension youth program events and opportunities.</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively utilize social media to raise awareness of opportunities.</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to pleasantly interact with a wide variety of individuals.</li>\n <li>Ability to work nights and weekends.</li>\n <li>Ability to travel throughout area of responsibility, occasional statewide, consistent with university policy.</li>\n <li>Strong organizational, time, and project management skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Documents</h2>\n<p>Along with the online application, please attach:</p>\n<li>Resume to be uploaded at the beginning of your application in the Candidate Profile under “Resume/CV”</li>\n<li>Cover letter to be typed/pasted at the end of your application </li>\n<p>**Document size may not exceed 10 MB.**</p>\n<h2>Advertised Salary</h2>48,000\n<h2>ADA</h2>\n<p>The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. This position requires moderate physical effort.
