The hospital offers a full complement of services, including diagnostic imaging, digestive health care, orthopedics, sleep medicine and surgical services. The hospital’s dedicated sleep disorder center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the gold standard for sleep care.</p>\n<p>Baptist Health Citizens is part of the Orlando Health system of care, which includes award-winning hospitals and ERs, specialty institutes, urgent care centers, primary care practices and outpatient facilities that span Florida’s east to west coasts, Central Alabama and Puerto Rico. Collectively, our team members honor our over 100-year legacy by providing professional and compassionate care to the patients, families and communities we serve. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary </strong></p>\n<p>Administers patient care in an area in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting where an acute care patient receives active treatment for an injury, illness, a medical condition, or post intervention with assessment. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential responsibilities include: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Administers bedside patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting under the supervision of a preceptor, leader, and/or charge nurse. </li>\n <li>Assesses patients’ needs and develops/revises individualized plans of care based on their needs and responses. Evaluates patients’ progress toward attaining expected outcomes. </li>\n <li>Functions as an advocate for patients and their families. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit/ department. </li>\n <li>Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department. </li>\n <li>Serves as a role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets the necessary information to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age- specific needs. </li>\n <li>Coordinates patient care for a defined group and delegates tasks appropriately to team members. </li>\n <li>Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner, meeting all required and regulatory standards. This includes, but is not limited to, patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and the use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit/department-specific requisite skills. </li>\n <li>Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates caring practices by providing a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and their families. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates awareness of legal issues and patients’ rights. </li>\n <li>Contributes to the knowledge and skills of others, and continuously improves the quality of healthcare practice and organizational outcomes. </li>\n <li>Assumes responsibility for one’s own professional development and continuing education. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Training: </strong>Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health, Orlando Health, and assigned unit/department. </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Certification: </strong>Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.  ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. </p>",
