    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong><u>Job Summary:</u></strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:9.35pt\"><span>The Assurance Director, Accounting Advisory &amp; Outsourcing is responsible for identifying opportunities for projects related to complex accounting and reporting matters, as well as other accounting advisory projects for both public and private companies.&nbsp; This role assists the ARAS team and companies with the implementation of new accounting standards, as well as other accounting and reporting related projects. &nbsp;The Director will be expected to manage day to day relationships with clients, lead engagement teams and foster new opportunities.&nbsp;</span></p>\n<p><br><span><strong><u>Job Duties:</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Applies technical knowledge to develop, administer and deliver training courses or presentation materials, including:</span>\n  <ul>\n   <li><span>Defining training goals</span></li>\n   <li><span>Supervising course development or updating, and evaluating courses</span></li>\n   <li><span>Facilitating training courses, and evaluating course/presentation effectiveness based on participant and presenter feedback</span></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><span>Researches complex auditing and reporting problems, and communicates back to clients in both written and verbal formats</span></li>\n <li><span>Leverages existing and helps design new ARAS tools and templates for use on ARAS engagements&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Evaluates impact of new accounting standards and new business transactions, including business combinations; discontinued operations, debt modifications, stock compensation and other complex financial instruments</span></li>\n <li><span>Produces Thought Leadership pieces, conference calls and live presentations for clients and prospective clients</span></li>\n <li><span>Demonstrates thought leadership, and provides value-added insights in BDO’s formal communications, as well as articles and speeches for external audiences</span></li>\n <li><span>Develops business opportunities</span></li>\n <li><span>Participates on professional committees&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Applies relevant GAAP, GAAS, SEC, PCAOB and other applicable or emerging regulations and standards, as well as the BDO Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct</span></li>\n <li><span>Other duties as required</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Acts as a Career Advisor to associates, seniors and managers as assigned</span></li>\n <li><span>Provides verbal and written performance reviews to associates, seniors and managers, as applicable</span></li>\n <li><span>Reviews work prepared by associates, senior associates and managers, and provides review comments, as appropriate</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span><strong><u>Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</u></strong></span></p>\n<p><span><strong>Education:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or Economics, required; OR</span></li>\n <li><span>Bachelor’s degree in other focus area AND CPA certification, required</span></li>\n <li><span>Master’s in Accountancy, preferred</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>Experience:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Ten (10) or more years of experience providing accounting and reporting advisory services, required</span></li>\n <li><span>Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience, required</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>License/Certifications:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>CPA certification, required</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>Software:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, preferred</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience with accounting research databases, preferred</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>Other Knowledge, Skills &amp;
