Description

Empowered to Excel. Trusted to Make a Difference. Join One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies! Dredging & Dewatering – Site Supervisor Leduc, AB/Western Canada Reports to: Operations Manager Department: Projects At KBL, we do things differently. As Western Canada’s largest environmental waste management company—born in the North and built on resilience—we’ve grown by trusting our people, keeping them safe and backing bold ideas. We're proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies! We’re looking for a Dredging & Dewatering - Site Supervisor to support our growing team asap, until the end of October. Great employees may have the opportunity for permanent employment with this team, or as part of the fast growing, larger KBL team.  The Dredging Site Supervisor is responsible for personnel and projects under their operation and oversees the workforce and equipment for assigned project(s), ensuring the most skilled individuals with adequate qualifications are working on sites with the right equipment to complete the projects in a timely manner. The successful candidate will assist in the training and maintaining of well-prepared employees, provide day-to-day supervision and be responsible for safety, quality and productivity as well as being responsible for scoping work. What You’ll Do Lead and support a crew of 5–20 employees, ensuring everyone works together safely and efficiently. Oversee site operations, including operators, labourers, contractors, and third-party vendors. Take ownership of site safety — from hosting daily tailgate meetings to making sure safety standards and compliance requirements are always met. Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, and deliveries to keep projects on schedule and running smoothly. Communicate regularly with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and your team to keep everyone aligned. Who You Are You bring at least 5 years of industry experience, or you’ve built strong skills that show you’re ready for the role. You’re mechanically inclined and eager to keep learning on the job. You understand the responsibilities that come with supervising a crew, including staying aligned with provincial safety laws and regulations. Must have exceptional verbal communication skills, able to give and receive verbal information and direction in a fast-paced environment. What You Need Strong supervisory and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to guide crews and keep projects moving smoothly. Experience leading and organizing subcontractors and multiple work crews on complex sites. Solid communication skills to work effectively with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, while resolving issues diplomatically. Ability to plan and schedule work in an organized and efficient way. A strong work ethic with the perseverance to handle tough weather, challenging sites, and long days when needed. Willingness to travel and spend extended periods working away from home, moving from project to project. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook). A valid Class 5 Driver’s License. We’re committed to providing a safe, supportive work environment. Reasonable accommodations are available to those who qualify. Why You’ll Love Working Here Trust & Empowerment: Empowered culture with minimal bureaucracy- just real responsibility, ownership, and the flexibility to do your best work. Growth & Agility: We’re entrepreneurial by nature—quick to adapt and deeply invested in your development. Care & Commitment: From top-tier benefits (including $3,000 annually for psychological support) to a focus on safety and wellness, we put our people first. Meaningful Impact: Your work helps build safer, cleaner communities across Canada and that’s something to be proud of. Why You’ll Love Our Perks Competitive wage, allowances and above-market benefits. RRSP matching, Health Care Spending Account, Wellness account, and flexible work options where feasible. Paid training and development opportunities, Manager training program, formal Employee Recognition program. We’re Proud of Where We Come From—and Where We’re Going Founded in the North in 2006 and led by an EY Entrepreneur of the Year, KBL continues to grow with purpose and agility. We share our success with our people and invest in their well-being every step of the way. KBL is committed to diversity and inclusion.
