Contributes relevant and appropriate information to RN. Maintains confidentiality of patient information. Supports the Patient Bill of Rights.&nbsp;</p><p>a. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Participates in meeting and reinforcing patient&rsquo;s educational needs and documents accordingly.</p><p>b. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique.</p><p>Under direction of RN, monitors and accurately records patient intake and output. Reports changes in patient&rsquo;s status (e.g., changes in vital signs, level of consciousness, weight, mobility status, comfort level, feeding pattern or any unusual occurrences) to RN in a timely manner.</p><p>Under direction of RN, assists patient with routine activities of daily living: feeding,bathing, ambulating, and skin care according to policy and documents appropriately. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills appropriate to the age, type, and development level of patients.</p><p>With RN supervision, performs basic nursing procedures (starting IV&rsquo;s, NG tube placement, etc.) per Delegation of Patient Care Activities Policy. May not administer medication.</p><p>&nbsp;Performs nursing assessment, for learning purposes, in conjunction with the licensed RN who performs an independent assessment and provides validation/co-signature of documentation.</p><p>&nbsp;Assists RN with discharge planning and patient education under direct RN supervision.</p><p>&nbsp;Provides and documents patient treatments under RN supervision.</p><p>&nbsp;Provides emotional support to patients and families and documents appropriately.</p><p>&nbsp;Attends and participates in unit related in-services, conferences, and meetings.</p><p>&nbsp;Collaborates by working with others to achieve unit and organizational goals.
